Graziana Maria Lazzaro

October 8, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Graziana Maria Lazzaro was born in Massafra, provincia di Taranto located in the historic Puglia region of Italy.

Massafra, has so much history it dates back to 970, from the Castle of Massafra to the Gravine and il Santuario della Madonna della scala, which my mom was named after. My grandparents loved music, my mom would sing to me from an early age and I would light up every time music would play. My sister played the piano and I would sing, music was a huge influence. In 1987, my family moved to Brooklyn, NY, (its where all the Italians lived at that time) my dad always believed in the American Dream and fast-forward a couple of years later my sister and me, are the first college graduates of our family.

Her passion and natural talent for singing and performing came at an early age of eight years old, Graziana participated at Lo Zecchino D’oro, USA. At 14, she participated at Microfono D’oro, an Italian American competition that helped her land a spot at L’accademia della Canzone di San Remo where she made the finals. At 21, she participated at the First Festival of Song and participated at the Cantamare Festival, where she was awarded first place. She was awarded best female vocalist and interpretation of song at the Voce di Calabria Festival in 2003. She has performed at numerous Italian –American events with the Sons of Italy, National Italian American Federation, UNICO and various Italian American Clubs throughout the US and Italy.
